MANAGING PRODUCER

The Frequency TV Managing Producer is both a visionary of the Frequency TV brand and mission, and an extraordinary leader tasked with overseeing all positions and aspects of Frequency TV; including broadcast programming, branding materials, and website maintenance elements. They communicate, organize, lead, and advocate both internally among Frequency staff, and externally with Columbia College staff, faculty, and community partners. Additionally, they will be at the forefront of developing original content; evaluating the relevance, effectiveness, and quality of all Frequency TV content. The Managing Producer will still hold responsibilities to participate in assignments, productions, and post production.

All applicants must be at least a second-semester sophomore, completed the core curriculum in their major and have a 2.0 GPA or higher.

CREATIVE PRODUCER

The Frequency TV Creative Producer is a leader and a team member involved in the creative process of creating informational and entertainment content that airs both on campus and online.

All applicants must be at least a second-semester sophomore, completed the core curriculum in their major and have a 2.0 GPA or higher.

Candidate Attributes

●      Must have leadership skills.

●      Must be able to communicate creative ideas to form base line for content producers, post production supervisors, and production technicians.

●      Must be a creative visionary, and able to design and implement executive goals and mission into work.

●      Must be a people person when working with coworkers, clients, and volunteers.

●      Must know social media well enough to run all social media for Frequency TV.

●      Must be able to work on multiple, ongoing projects.

●      Must have a flexible schedule.

●      Video camera technical operation and shot composition

●      Field audio mixer and microphone

●      Adobe Premiere or other video editing software

●      Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator or other photo and graphic compositing software

CONTENT PRODUCER

A Frequency TV content producer is a production leader and a team member involved in the creative and technical process of creating original Frequency TV content that airs both on campus and online.

 All applicants must be at least a second-semester sophomore, completed the core curriculum in their major and have a 2.0 GPA or higher.

●      Must be self-motivated, creative, a good story teller and proficient in shooting/editing techniques and applications.

●      Must be able to work on deadline and short turn-around times.

●      Must be a team player with the ability to work in groups, as well as on your own.

●      Must be able to work on multiple, ongoing projects.

●      Must have a flexible schedule.

Technical Skills & Operations:

 ●      Video camera technical operation and shot composition

●      Field audio mixer and microphone

●      Final Cut Pro and/or Adobe Premiere editing platforms

●      Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

●      Word processing software (Microsoft office, Apple Pages, Google Drive, etc.)

●      Celtx

●      Basic Social Media Managing (is a plus)

POST-PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

A Frequency TV post production supervisor is a leader and a team member involved in editing, color correcting, audio, and graphics. They have an advanced knowledge of computers and post-production softwares, and will be the “go-to” editor for all major Frequency TV productions.

 All applicants must be at least a second-semester sophomore, completed the core curriculum in their major and have a 2.0 GPA or higher.


Candidate Attributes

 ●      Must have an outgoing personality and able to communicate properly with Frequency staff members, fellow students, faculty and staff.

●      Must be self-motivated, creative, a good story teller and proficient in editing/post production techniques and applications.

●      Must be able to input creative direction, and work under the direction and guidance of producers.

●      Must be highly organized with digital assets and server media.

●      Must be a problem solver and can work around technical and creative issues.

●      Must be able to work on deadline and short turn-around times.

●      Must be able to work on multiple, ongoing projects.


Technical Skills & Operations:

●      Advanced user of Adobe Premiere and Adobe Suite software

●      Color Correction

●      Sound Editing & Mixing

●      Rudimentary understanding of Adobe After Effects and compositing, motion graphics, and animation

●      Basic knowledge of graphic design.

●      Understanding of file types, codecs, and compression and transcoding.

●      Able to organize and maintain files in a server.


PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN

A Frequency TV production technician is the shooter for all major Frequency TV productions and focuses on camera work, lighting, and audio for both field and in-studio productions. They will occasionally step up to roles that include directing single camera, and multi-camera studio productions and other tasks

 All applicants must be at least a second-semester sophomore, completed the core curriculum in their major and have a 2.0 GPA or higher.

Candidate Attributes

●      Must be experienced in camera work.

●      Must be able to take creative direction and input creative elements for technical aspects of productions.

●      Must be able to communicate directions and tasks for other production members (staff, volunteers, talent, etc.).

●      Must be able to train volunteers on basic production tasks.

●      Must have a basic understanding of lighting equipment and how to light talent.

●      Must be able to work on multiple, ongoing projects.

●      Must have a flexible schedule.

 

Technical Skills & Operations:

●      Advanced video camera technical operation and shot composition

●      Understanding of Audio recording, including field audio mixer and microphone

●      Fundamental knowledge of lighting and shaping of light to produce flattering imagery.

●      Basic knowledge of multi-cam studio production, or eagerness to learn these operations.

●      Additional knowledge of other areas of video producing (pre-production, post-production) is a plus.
